Project Based Learning
and Design Thinking

At Prahran High School, we are committed to introducing Project Based Learning and Design Thinking as core parts of the learning process for all students.

We explore this area primarily through our Design Lab subject.

This subject links together traditional technologies (such as woodwork), as well as modern technologies (such as coding and digital technologies, 3D printing, robotics and digital design).

Students engage in extensive, collaborative projects that use technology to develop solutions to real-world problems. Design Thinking is at the heart of this learning process, which also offers students plenty of opportunities to make connections with the local community.

Project Based Learning is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an authentic, engaging, and complex question, problem, or challenge.
